    Just another ramble

Thursday, March 6, 2008, 07:24 AM CST [General]

It is after six am and I can't sleep. As I was lying in bed, childhood memories were popping up. Not the bad ones, but the good ones. I grew up on a five acre farm in Grangerland Texas till I was 14. I had lots of cousins to play with and my sister. Now during this time I was not raised by my parents but by my real father's parents. Mama and Papa was what I called them. They were really the only parents I knew at the time. I remember papa building the house that we lived in. We lived in a real old house at the time he was building the new one. Had to use a paint bucket for a potty lol. I remember him filling up an old tin tub so my sister and I could play in the water. Chasing the chickens after mama cut off their heads, that was fun lol. Papa taking us down to Caney Creek to go swimming and fishing and then when I got a bit older going by myself, it was just about a mile or so walking through the woods to get there. I remember a part of the creek being so clear you could see the bottom, and so cold. A little sandy beach that was perfect for bringing a book to read and just chilling from chores and school. We had a big old oak tree in the yard, and it had a wisteria vine growing up it. The vine started a bit away from it, and the way it had grown was perfect for climbing on. It had grown up with three different vines that had entwined around each other and then started growing up the oak tree. In the spring before the leaves would sprout on the oak tree my sister and I would shake the wisteria vine and make purple flowers rain down on us. We would dance under the flowers calling them purple snow. The oak tree was my favorite, I had a spot I would climb up to with some snacks and a good book. I loved that tree, it was my sanctuary from things that would go on. My sister and I tying a end of a rope to a tree and taking turns turning the rope to play jump rope. When we would go to the creek we had to cut through a neighbors yard, which was behind us just a couple of blocks I would say. But the lady and her husband were so nice. They had a son that would be there sometimes and he taught me a few cords on a piano, I wanted one that year for Christmas, but we could not afford something like that, but papa bought me a organ and I loved it, got real good at playing it. He always ask me to play a song called the Old Gray Mare lol, and Johnny Boy. He would sit in his chair and listen to me practice all the time.  They had some friends we would go see, and they had their grandchildren too. The daughter was about me and my sister's age. But she had an older brother, and boy did I have a crush on him lol. I remember one time I think I had just turned 12, and I stuffed my bra rofl, to get his attention. I was so embarrassed when one of the socks fell out of the bra, but he just winked at me and picked it up. I could have thankfully sank into the ground rofl. But I remember another time we were there and I had ran into some barb wire, and cut my knee up pretty good. He picked me up and carried me into the house, doctored up my knee and then kissed the band aid, and told me so it would heal faster. I was in love let me tell you lol. My knight in shining armor coming to my rescue just like in my books, I mooned about it for days. Ah books my savors, my way of running away. I started reading at an early age. I remember that we did not have a library at our school, we a book mobile that would come once a week. We had certain sections that our grade level was to read, but I didn't like the baby books as I called them. It took me a while to convince my teacher that I could really read above my grade level. Little House on the Prairie series, Witch of Blackbird Pond, Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys, Little Women. Now that book has special memories for me, my great grandmother was very ill, she died when I was seven. But anyway great grandfather (Big Daddy as he was called) took me and my sister to this store to pick out a book, when great grandmother was in the hospital. I choose Little Women to read, I had that book for years even as an adult I kept that book, because Big Daddy bought it for me. So when I read the book or see the movies I think of him. I remember sitting in his lap, curling my hands around his pipe for warmth when they were cold. I loved the smell of his pipe, till this day when I smell a pipe I think of him. He died when I was 18, he lived a good long life. I remember find my Uncle Joe's high school books that he had to read in school, like Lord of the Flies, and a few other that I can't think of right now. Let me tell you that Lord of the Flies is not a good book for a ten year old to read. Uncle Joe is only about eight years older then me, so those books were not that old thinking about it now. Ok how about Sunday nights when The World of Disney would come on, I loved those movies. I have a bunch of them now lol. Bed knobs and Broomsticks, Escape to Witch Mountain, oh here is a good one the Castaways, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, or Mary Poppins, and Peter Pan. The Micky Mouse Club when Annette Funicello was one of the original Mousekters.  Then after the world of Disney, then it was Wild America now that was a good show. I was still young when Little House on the Prairie come on, papa loved that show, along with Archie Bunker lol. Oh how about saturady morning cartoons. Josey and the Pussycats, Scobby Doo, Jabber Jaws lol, but to name a few. Busting my cousin Jennie in the nose with a baseball bat cause she was to close behind me. Or just beating the crap out of her lol. We never did get along. But I was the only one that could beat her up, no one else was allowed, or I would beat them up. Oh here is a good one having a shetland pony in the back seat of a four door Rambler, back seat taken out for the horse, the horse hanging it's head out the window on it's way to the vet, and me ducking praying none of my friends saw me like this rofl.  Dancing under purple flowers, the fresh smell after a good spring rain, swimming in the creek, going fishing, playing with my cousins and sister, munching a apple, reading a good book in my favorite tree, watching tv with my grandparents. And for you young ones out there we didn't have cable like now nope we had if we were lucky four channels to watch. But we are always thinking of the bad times, and there was some good times in there too. You know starting today the bad past is gone, and I will remember the good times, that I had as a child. This will be a good way for me to heal that innner child within me. So guess what everyone dance under purple flowers, splash in the creek and watch on old cartoon that you have not seen in years. Watch a old movie that brings good memories. Come on lets go play.

Blessings to everyone and may your day be filled with joy, love, laughter, and happiness

    Keep the passion going spell

Wednesday, February 27, 2008, 09:00 PM CST [General]

Ok I have had some feedback on that one lol. So I decide to share it. Now if I put on my teacher's hat with this one I apologize now. Ok on to the spell working.

Now this calls for all you bedding, sheets, pillow cases, bed spread (if you can wash it) and blankets. Now as I said before my home is my altar, so everything in my home are my tools. Stove, refrigerator, washing machine, dryer etc...

With the washing machine you are working the the elements of water and air. I know you get the water part but the air? Think about it, when it goes on spin cycle it is spinning and spinning fast, air is working to get the water out of the clothes.

Ok the water element what it means to me, you can look on line read books etc.. about the elements, but it all boils down to what they mean to you. Water for me means emotions, sensuality, love, compassion, flowing, changing, refreshing, and cleansing. Water is seen as feminine.

Air for me means carrying away my troubles, blows away strife, freedom, joyful, harmony, impulsive, freedom, expression.

Now as with all tools and your washing machine and dryer are going to become your tools, they must be blessed and consecrated. Just a little I bless this washing machine and dryer to be used only for good, with harm to none. And then smudge with lavender and sage. But that is how I do it, how you would like to do it is up to you.

Ok now the herbs that you will use for this little spell, red rose petals (love) lavender (happiness, love, particularly effective in helping with marital problems or relationships), carnation (spicy energy), jasmine (essentially a seduction herb), gardenia (love, passion). Mix all the herbs together and and as you mix focus your intent in the herbs. I will leave the intent part up to you lol. Stir three times desoel and say a little chant or spell as you do it. Something like this Herbs of passion, herbs of love Help me and my beloved. Fires that once where hot But now have dimmed and are not. Passion and love is what I seek For me and my beloved so I do speak. Blessed Be!! Or what ever you would like to say. Now put the charged herbs in either a piece of cheese cloth, or cut some old pantie hose ( i like to use the pantie hose myself) tie it real good. Oh I know that you can't do all the bedding at one time so make sure that you make enough of the herbs for how many loads you will do.

Now wash you would normally, I like to add a bit of salt to my wash cycle, to remove negativity. Now on the rinse cycle put in your herbs, turn off your machine for about five minutes and let it just sit, now when you put the herbs in the water you can say something or just focus your intent when you do this. Remember now not only do you have the herbs working for you but also Water and Air. Then turn back on and let it finish it's cycle. I know most use fabric softener at this time, but don't just use the herbs, you can use a fabric softener in the dryer.

Dryer: Now with the dryer you have fire and air. Again this is how I see the element fire as passion, sex, heat, energy, strength, protection, change, will, power.  And at the top I did the element Air. But when you put the two together well it is an awesome working. As is with Water and Air. You don't have to work with just one element, they do enjoying working together. Ok now you put your bedding in the dryer, make sure to grab the herbs to go into the dryer with them. Now as you did with the washing machine do the same with the dryer. Again remember you are working with Fire, Air and herbs, when you turn on the dryer say a little chant and focus your intent.

Oh this is done on a Full Moon!!! And don't be afraid to call upon the Gods and Goddesses like Aphrodite, Arianrhod, Freya, Venus, Cupid, Amor, Anteros just to name a few.

Now you can use these tools to do other types of workings, like protection, peace, harmony, removing negativity, etc.. just see what type of herbs you need to use.

Kitchen Witchery at it's finest lol. Remember as with all spell working HARM NONE!!

    Happy Spell Working Blessed Be!!!

    Kitchen Witchery Stuff

Thursday, February 21, 2008, 02:59 PM CST [General]

You know I was thinking today that being a Kitchen Witch and well it seems that either I'm bitching about something or going on about my green house. I never seem to really share about my chosen path. You know it's like I'm a Kitchen Witch go from there lol.  But I have decide today that I will post some little blog about how you can do magick around your home. Being a kitchen witch is not always about the kitchen you know lol. Even though I do have to admit that is where I work most of my magick.

What is a Kitchen Witch, well you can look up on line and finds so many different explanations about kitchen witchery. To each kitchen witch it is so many different things, I for one treat my whole home as my altar, I work a bit of magick in all my household chores. I bless my stove every time I wipe it off. And that once a week when I really get down and dirty with it I consecrate and bless it. I do the same with my cupboards, and pantry. When I vacuum my carpets I have a carpet fresh that I make and use everyday. Not only does it make the house smell nice, but it also works to keep out negativity and bring in blessings that the family needs. My favorite little chant most of the time is love, peace and harmony. When I fold up the clothes I put little blessings in each one I fold. I have a little thing of special herbs that I put in my washer and dryer when I do the sheets for the bedroom :) You know a little something to help keep the spice going lol. Ask nice and I might share lol. To me being a kitchen witch is making a home where all may come and feel peace and safe from the outside world even if it is only for a little while they are there.

I see many on here posting about herbs and their magick use, and their healing use. You can go any where on line and find info about that. But it is how you use the combo's of the herbs and what intent you put into the herbs for them to work. Ok an example, as a few on here can verify about how I cook. I have found that everyone seems to be at peace and happy after a meal I fix. It is the herbs I use, how I stir the herbs in, and my intent as I'm mixing. When I make bread, it's all by hand and that is hard work, but I sing happy little songs as I'm kneading the dough, and I focus my intent of happiness, peace, and love to all that share of the bread. It can be just opening a can of green beans, but you add a little butter and salt to them, and stir. Now as most know salt is use to remove negativity, when you add the salt stir widdershin (counter clock wise) and think about what ever negativity is going around leaving as each person eats of this dish. Butter is smooth and creamy, it has a rich flavor. To me butter is like greasing the squeaky wheel to to speak lol. But magick wise butter can be used to smooth out what ever is going on. This works great with families lol, there is always something going on. When I cook for a large amount of people I think of what ever negativity that might be happening in their lives and ask and stir that it be eased or be gone. I do it as a general thing when cooking for a large number of people. When I cook for a large group, most of the intent I put in my food is happiness, peace, love, and prosperity with harm to none and as the Goddess wills.  As with any herb or spice that you cook with, think of its meaning if you don't know look it up and focus your intent in the herb or spice if for a positive affect then stir deosil, if removing then stir widdershin. But as with working any magick remember Harm None!!!!

Next week if time willing and Goddess willing I will post a bit on how to bring magick in other parts of your home. Might even share the secret of the keep the passion going herbal mix lol.
